Disney Treasure Review: Is It Worth the Price?

Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship– The Disney Treasure– began setting sail in late 2024. My family was lucky enough to be among one of the first to experience the ship and its grandeur as we enjoyed cruising on The Disney Treasure during its fourth sailing. As it’s only offering 7 night sailings during its inaugural season, it’s definitely a big financial investment to consider for your family. Stick around for the details… including a pros and cons list as a Disney Treasure review, and I’ll let you know if the Disney Treasure is worth the price tag!

Mosaic Tile Disney Treasure

The Disney Treasure is Disney Cruise Line’s sixth ship to hit the high seas. At present, it is in the largest class of Disney ships– the Triton Class.

144,000 tonnage
1,250 cabins
up to 4000 passengers

Guests can enjoy 7 night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries out of Port Canaveral.

Disney Treasure Review: Pros

Theming

The Treasure knocks it out of the park on theming! Every detail from the largest spaces to the smallest mosaic tile is perfectly crafted and thoughtfully executed. Below are some of my favorite details!

I have to admit I also loved every detail in our deluxe oceanview stateroom which featured an Aladdin theme. See all of the details here!

Something for All Ages

People think Disney Cruises are just for kids! While they do have some incredible kids’ clubs, they also have amazing adults’ only spaces. Whether you are heading to Cove Cafe to spend some quiet coffee time without your kids or grabbing some popcorn and heading to the movies together, there’s plenty to do for every age group.

My husband and I spent a lot of time in the adults only areas while our kids hung out in their designated spaces. We loved the calmness of the Cove Cafe, the scenery from the Quiet Cove infinity pool, and the nightly entertainment held in the Sarabi lounge.

Inclusive Pricing

Cruising with Disney means you don’t get nickel and dimed. There are not a lot of extra costs to incur while onboard. Unless you want to add specialty drinks or cocktails or visit the spa, for example, your bottom line is what you paid before you stepped foot on the ship. Sure there are places to spend more money like the merchandise shops and Jumbeaux’s Sweets ice cream parlor, but you don’t have to. In fact, there’s unlimited soft serve ice cream on the pool deck that’s always included.

Take a look at what your Disney Cruise includes:

  • All meals, with dinner as rotational dining
  • Unlimited fountain drinks
  • Unlimited soft serve ice cream
  • Broadway-style entertainment
  • First-run Disney movies
  • Onboard activities like trivia and karaoke
  • Top notch service
  • Character meet and greets
  • Complimentary childcare for ages 3 and up

Disney Treasure Review: Cons

Longer Itineraries

During the Disney Treasure’s inaugural season, it will only offer 7-night itineraries, focusing on extended voyages that allow families to fully immerse themselves in the magic of Disney at sea.

These week-long sailings are designed to provide a more in-depth cruising experience, with plenty of time to enjoy the ship’s unique offerings. However, if you’re hoping for a shorter, more spontaneous getaway—like a quick weekend escape—this particular ship will not be it.

Price Point

The price point for a Disney Treasure cruise is a direct correlation to the length of sailing. Because there are only 7 night itineraries, there’s no option for shorter, more budget-friendly trips that might typically come with a lower price tag. This means the cost remains relatively high across the board.

The best way to find a more affordable rate is to sail during off-peak times—such as during the school year or outside of major holidays—when demand is lower and prices may dip slightly. That said, even during these less popular travel windows, families can still expect to pay a premium for the Disney Treasure experience. For a family of four, the starting price generally hovers around $7,000, making it a significant investment regardless of the season.

Is the Disney Treasure worth it for your family?

Overall the Disney Treasure is an incredible ship, from craftsmanship to entertainment to dining and lounges galore. You cannot go wrong with this ship if you are looking for exceptional service and classic Disney theming. It’s the Disney Difference at its finest.

If your family is considering a Disney Cruise and is a fan of Aladdin, Coco, or classic Disney, then this is the ship for you! You will love all of the nods and special touches throughout.

The price point of the Disney Treasure understandably won’t be for every family and every budget. For families wanting a similar experience, the Disney Wish is a great alternative. As sister ships, the Treasure and the Wish are almost identical, just with different theming. And the Disney Wish comes in at a lower price point! That’s because it offers 3-night and 4-night itineraries.
